So today is a major day for me. Yossy's birthday, Airi's birthday, Gomaki Ganbare! Day and the last part of Aibon's interview (excuse me for still calling her that. For me she'll forever be Aibon no matter who much she changes). So to all my four beloved idols something is happening today.
I had planned to do a long post about them. But let's put all that aside. Why? Because
- I've got a shitload of schoolwork again and no time for blogging
- I'm stunned. And I'm A WAY MORE stunned that I was with Namida no Iro.
Just... how great is this? And (I NEVER swear!) why the fuck didn't they have this as the main version? May I ask? Just what is the logic behind this? I know that everyone else is thinking the same. But I still cannot understand...
Aichan looks genuinely lonely. This scene... the way she gulps... She really made me almost cry. Gaki and Reina were great (can you say that in this case?) too. Actually... I don't think I'll be able to write anything smart now. So I'll leave that for the good writers.
Just... When will they learn to do stuff in widescreen?
I feel bad for not featuring any of those for I mentioned first. I love you all! You're my top four, can you hear?! (Though Aichan... you might be number five now...) I'll put one of my favourite photos of each one. ♪
Wow, Gocchin was a hard one since I don't have any favourite photos of her. Probably because she's always gorgeous :P (though so are all of these girls!). In the end I decided to put a funny one because I love those jeans to death.
Actually, these photos tell quite well the images I have of each of these girls. Unfortunately I'll have to change my image of Aibon since that's what she wants... But since a picture tells more than a thousand words, I'm convinced not to try to say anything more but to read my love for these girls in the photos.
PS. People at Hello!Online translated Aibon's blog entries. I love them! ♥♥
Yay, I turned 18 yesterday... And I had so much school work I couldn't do the post I was intending to do... But at least I get to post this great song now, a day too late. If I only could find a translation...
But let's put that aside, I got myself a great birthday present! :) I won't be revealing what it is just yet (something to do with H!P? Of course you baka) but when it arrives I will be examinating it closely. It's great. ♥ Also I got a lot of money and on the "what-to-get-first"-list there are Buono!'s singles and Gocchin's, Ongaku Gatas' and Momusu's latest albums. (Yeah, I haven't got SEXY 8 BEAT yet. Lame, isn't it?). And of course Resonant Blue, which will be the first thing ever I'll buy as soon as it's released. Or even preorder as soon as it's revealed what the bonus DVDs will include.
I haven't been writing much lately and so I actually have a lot to catch up with. Just when I find time I will post of many things. Now I just don't have the time.
But now I'm waiting for my birthday present (oh, it will take weeks) and crying for happiness and WAITING FOR TOMORROW when we'll at last now what she's up to.
I love you Gottsuan.
Come back already...
But I couldn't possibly leave Yossy out! She's also cheering on you Gocchin!
BTW, a belated Happy Birthday to International Wota also! I'm kind of sorry I couldn't participate in the Cake Day... It would have been a lot of fun! :)
I found a bigger version of my favourite picture from Y-H.org! It has a great Yossy gallery, please visit it everybody! It's got more photos of this concert tour also. :)
And yes, this photo deserves a post of its own. :) It's fabulous. The photo in itself is also a great one, I love how her eyes are fastened on the side, on something we can't see. The composition is great. (In fact, I study in a Higher Secondary School of Visual Arts... I'm supposed to be kind of artistic I guess. :P)
Dohhup put up some videos about Ongaku Gatas concert tour! Here and here! The first one features some backstage material and even live material from the real show! (Though the sound is not the right one.) The latter provides us some extremely cute presentation of the tour goods!
(As you can see I'm really exited! ♪)

No matter what some people say but I'm in love with Ongaku Gatas and their incredible first album which I'll write a review about someday! And I'm gonna buy this concert DVD for sure! I honestly think that Tsunku has found himself again with Ongaku Gatas. I just love their style of music! I wonder though why thwy didn't perform Souda! We're ALIVE in their concert, it would have fitted in so much better than Uwaki na Honey Pie for example. Maybe Uwaki na Honey Pie just fits in their super genki style (just like Go Girl ~Koi no Victory~ does) and since Maichin is there they're kind of forced to perform at least one Country Musume song. I still wonder... they're performing Koibito wa Kokoro no Ouedan and that should be enough I think... To me Uwaki na Honey Pie is somehow too much. But I'm not complaining, Uwaki na Honey Pie is a lot of fun and Koibito wa Kokoro no Ouedan is too cute not to be loved. But I love the fact that they're performing Honki de Atsui Theme Song, it's one of my favourite Momusu songs ever! Just what are they going to shout in the end after all those "izasusume!"s in the place of "Morning Musume!"? "Ongaku Gatas!"? ;P Doesn't really sound good.
Suki Sugite Baka Mitai has me a bit worried, because I've always thought of it as a Gocchin song (read: only to be performed by Gocchin&co. or some other people who are Gocchin-like enough (Reina is ok. :)). I don't know who would be good to perform it... Apparently all members of Ongaku Gatas perform it or at least I don't know better. I'm sure there'll be lots of Rikachan (of course, she was in DEF.DIVA) and Maichin because I think someone thinks that she might work in the song (though not a win for me). But those super cute eggs in this song? Somehow I cannot see that...
And seriosuly, putting those two Gatas cheering songs as encore is a weird decision. They're not very good songs to be performed in a concert anyway... But maybe that was the only spot they could think of - you couldn't really put them in the beginning or in the middle either.
Some great Yossy photos from their concert (taken God only knows from where and I definitely don't have any rights to put them up, but do I ever have anyway?)
I love the first one, she's so BEAU ・TI ・FUL!! ♥♥ That incredible costume is for the Seishun no Custard performance, I assume (watch the Dohhhup! video clip).
Again some great photos!
God I love that Seishun no Custard costume! I wonder why they don't use normal clothes in coincerts more often... They look always better. And somehow in all the photos where Yossy is wearing those clothes she looks like 100 times better that in the others. All my favourite photos from this whole batch are the ones where she's wearing those. (Though Maichin's clothes for that same performance are... horrible. What's with that hat, seriously?)
Poor Yossy - so pretty, so skinny... That fourth photo!
When I was speaking of Gocchin I remembered something I just understood a while ago. She's now become my second favourite H!P girl, if not even trying to get to share the tops spot with Yossy and that's a lot to sayl, and I love her a lot and I'M NEVER GOING TO SEE HER PERFORM IN A H!P CONCERT! My dream is to some day make it to a concert in Japan and Gocchin won't be there. :'( I'll better make my dream true soon, otherwise everyone else will have already left also when I finally get to Japan...
I'm starting to think that I'll never see her perform anyway. For a long time I wanted to believe the rumors that she was going to sign up with avex or something... But it's already February and nothing has been heard from her. I'm still hoping but not really believing anymore.
Gocchin, I miss you... You're so beautiful!
(There's something wrong when the photographer has focused his camera on one's boobs instead of one's face...)Yesterday, very suitably between two important anniversaries (three days of celebration in a row!) came this:
Yes, it is exactly what you see:
- Morning Musume's single Chokkan 2 ~Nogashita Sakana wa Ookiizo! (limited edition)
- Morning Musume's single Ambitous! Yashinteki de Ii Jan (limited edition)
- Nacchi's first album Hitoribocchi (first press)
- Mikitty's album miki① (first press)
- Gomattou's single Shall We Love? (first press)
- W's last single Miss Love Tantei (first press) (Yay! My W collection is completed now!)
Hmm, I'm happy. :) But I shall post about these later because first I have to familiaraze myself with Nacchi's and Mikitty's albums, I've never listened to those. Only to Mikitty's singles and the original versions of songs that they have covered on their albums (Shall We Love?, Furusato, Hare Ame Nochi Suki and so on).
So instead of these, I shall talk about those two anniversaries. The first one is rapidly discussed:
The day before yestarday, December 6th, was Finland's 90th Independence Day! Yay for 90-year-old independent Finland!
And today is the latter anniversary: while H!P is celebrating their 10th anniversary, today, December 8th, is my first anniversary with Hello!Project! This can be easily told as I count my acquaintanceship with H!P to begin from the moment I first read about Morning Musume from an anime magazine (no, I'm not into anime or manga but many of my friends are and I have some knowledge about them). The article was about Japanese idol culture and mentioned Morning Musume as a central idol group of these days. Although I didn't become a fan istantly (the article told about the stirct rules of the idol world and also some very sad destinies of past idols, suicides and suchs...) this was the first time I can remember I heard about them (I had probably heard about Minimoni earlier but I don't remember), so I count my H!P life to begin from that point. This particular magazine came out December 8th 2006.
Congratulations, Andra! One year of H!P fandom behind!
Because of this major event in my life, I've decided to let you know certain things from the beginning of my journey to the world of H!P: how I got to know this whole thing (I told that already :)), how I became a fan and my first purchase.
How I became a fan.
As I told I had already read about Momusu before I became a fan and not very good stuff. My second bumping into the world of H!P was not any better. It was at my friend's, who is into j-rock, place. She showed me a Momusu PV which was, as many other people's first Momusu PV, Go Girl ~Koi no Victory~. I was completely blown away. My friend started preaching how wrong it is to put 13-year-old girls there to dance in mini shorts acting all cute to middle-aged men (thanks God she hadn't learned about Berryz or °C-ute!). Well, I sat there nodding to all she said as she was right and I should have been thinking the same thing. Normally I would have. But now, how could I! I had finally been properly introduced to Morning Musume, my favourite "band" of all times.
So I acted as I was hurt about the fact that Japanese people love teenage idols who do anything but promote the equality between men and women. To calm my unsure and guilty conscience I could at least say that I wasn't one of those middle-aged men. Since that I have discovered that I'm not their only female fan. But I still have a hard time admitting anyone, including myself, that I'm in love with a organisation that systematically makes underaged girls, even children, try to appeal sexy to middle-aged men (I shall talk more about this particular thing later) and overwork so much that they barely have three hours of sleep sometimes (well, I heard that Ishiguro Aya said this in some interview) which is totally against the laws against child labour. A thing to calm my conscience again is that I believe they have more time to sleep nowadays. No-one could survive with so little sleep, they would all be dead already. But back to the negative points of H!P: they prevents the children that are part of H!P from having a normal childhood or chances to develop normally. This doesn't lead to a good result as we have seen in cases of our beloved Two Top.
But what I'm trying to say that I still don't dare to admit that I'm a HUGE fan of H!P. The only ones to know are my parents and my sister. (And all you people.) So, if you who are reading this post are my friend IRL, please don't tell me that you have read my blog. I don't want to know that you know that I like H!P.
(And it doesn't matter that in the end that friend of mine ended up sometimes listening to Momusu also. It's their power. :) But she's not closely as much involved as I am.)
Back to the story: I wasn't thinking so much about this that I counldn't have gone to YouTube and typed "Morning Musume". Though first I had to search for the magazine I had remembered that I had read about them as I couldn't remember the name of my new acquaintance. Next I found myself spending all my time in Youtube and watching Momusus PVs and other entertaining clips I could find. Before I knew about this audition-graduation thing I found a lot of OPVs and other clips about so-called "6th generation". I didn't, of course, understand what it meant but what I could understand was that they were members of Momusu though for some reason often seen together, the three of them, a group inside Momusu. Because they were mostly OPVs and stuff it's not difficult to guess who captured my attention.
This pretty girl was my very first favourite. After a few months I was finally able to put the faces and the names together and after doing some research I had found this great site that helped me a lot when I was trying to understand the great world of H!P. My next step was to sign up for this site to get my hand to all the great subtitled videos I saw I could upload from there. Only one problem: I had never heard such words as "torrent", "tracker" or "seed". Oh, just how mamy times H!P has made it obligatory to understand information technology. :) Well, after many weeks when I finally did manage to complete a download I watched my first subtitled Utaban episode "Souda! We're ALIVE (no need to tell that it was hilarious). I had figured out Sayu's slight lacks already but she had still remained as my favourite until this. Here came Yossy to take that place forever! ♥
So this was my story. To assure you that wonderful Sayu wasn't forgotten for good, I can tell you that I have just recently started to like her more and more. I have already shared my thoughts about her on Mikan and now that I received the limited edition of Ambitous! Yashinteki de Ii Jan I have one reason more to love her. When I watched the DVD that comes with it I was very impressed with her. The DVD includes some previews of Morning Musume spring 2006 concert tour and I totally want to watch it now! Sayu seemed SO good in the performances, she was literally giving her all! She was bouncing up and down and almost crying. I don't know if she was just enjoying it so much or if it happened to be the last performance of that concert... Here is the performance:
There is still one thing I love about Sayu: her small hands. I have always been told that small hands are feminine. I have big hands. I want Sayu's beautiful hands! (Look at the first photo.) By the way, I will make a post about loving Yossy too. Someday. So I'm not going to tell you now what changed my mind so dramatically. :)
My first H!P purchase.
It's not very hard to guess what I my first purchase was, is it? Try to. :)
Yes, of course it's Mr. Moonlight ~Ai no Big Band~. What else could it be? This was the very first H!P CD I bought and if I remember right, I paid 6,49$ for it (used). I like to buy older releases as used so that I can get the first press extras if there are such things.
This is also a first press release so the lyric sheet is a little booklet. I'm sorry if the quality of the pictures is not good enough, my scanner isn't a very good one.
This is certaintly one of the Momusu singles whose cover and doesn't match the song or the PV at all, if not the worst case. Come on, what's with this silvery-glossy-astronaut-space-thingy? And those things they are holding in the little pictures of the booklet make them look like little FBI agents, though very cute ones. Gocchin's gun... well, it's like half a toy gun, half from Star Trek. I wouldn't want to be shot with that.
And those hairstyles and the floating rocks in that bottom photo? I really can't tell what the designer of this single's cover and booklet was thinking... I would totally have liked them more if they used the clothes they used in the PV, even the ones that they wear only in a little part in the end. But the ideal would have been Yossy, Gocchin and Nacchi in their costumes and the others in their dresses. Then a picture where Yossy is in the center and everybody is drooling after her... That would've been cool. :)
At least Yossy is in the front in this cover too. It's funny: when I bought this single I was so new to Momusu that I had quite a lot difficulties to recognize all the members in this cover, the photo is taken from such an original angle. Nowadays it doesn't take me a second but it was quite hard back then.
This is definitely one of my favourite singles. There are several reasons:
- YOSSY!!!! No need to say more.
- I have always loved big band music (and jazz) so this is a match made in heaven: Momusu making a single with this kind of music and Yossy singing leads!
- I just love the story and the way the PV is made... It's very entertaining even if you're not a fan of the song.
- The b-side is PERFECT. I love it, it brings on the best sides of everybody's voices and it's just a wonderful song. Here, listen to it yourself: I love it. Why? Just the feeling that it gives me. And it's a perfect sing-along song. ONE OF THE BEST MOMUSU SONGS EVER.
I'm happy. ♪ A perfect reason to include some Yossy.
She's perfect, isn't she?
Poor Airi, I seem to push the post about her and her already released photobook forwards again... :) Someday I WILL write about it.
So to the two topics that were left from my previous post: Ongaku Gatas getting an album and Airi's upcoming photobook.
I think one could easily guess why Ongaku Gatas is so important to me although I maybe didn't fell in love with their singles quite as much as some people did. But it's quite obvious: the unit that assured me Yossy wouldn't turn out to be and another Kemeko: just disappear mysteriously after her graduation, on display only if you live in Japan, in the rare occasions she is playing a minor role in some unknown musical or play. If you're really lucky, you can even see her in some short TV drama. Nice, but unfortunately I don't live in Japan. It's not possible for me and I wouldn't be satisfied with that anyway. (Well, again I don't know: probably Kemeko's situation is a little better than I described :). At least I hope.) To my great pleasure, it's quite opposite - she got this.
Although Rika has the center position in this photo, Yossy has been given the leads otherwise: she is the leader of the unit and also has the lead vocals in their songs. If that can even be said when the lines are actually quite equally divided, excluding poor Korenaga Miki and Mutou Mika who are left without any solo lines in both songs (probably due to their looks more than their voice). She has the opening line for both songs, a great solo in the bridge as well as quite a lot of screen time their PVs (Narihajimeta Koi no Bell and Yattarouze!). Has anyone watched the Yattarouze! performance at Haromoni@? Yossy was the one who seemed to be enjoying it the most. She made all kinds of funny faces and expressions when she was only in the camera and other time she was smiling a lot. She always seems to enjoy performances so much :).
Not only Yossy, but the whole Ongaku Gatas has received a lot of love from their agency. I'm sure that at first many were assuming this would be another one-shot group but now, after two singles and especially because they have an album announced already, it seems that they will be around a little longer. Though I'm still hoping for a Yossy solo career (which now seems quite unlikely) I'm very positive about this group. There main two points that make me believe in this group:
- The quality of the songs given to them. I've heard that many are so impressed with these singles that they might qualify other of them as the best H!P song of the year. After listening a lot to them, just to convince myself that they really are that great and that Yossy has got the best thing she can at this moment, Í have to admit that they are very carefully done. Very catchy. But I still have the "♥falling-in-love-with-this-music♥" feeling I'm sure all of you are familiar with ahead. I'm hoping for it to come with either after seeing their concert DVD that will be released next year or after hearing (Yossy solo songs in :)) their album. Also, no-one can ignore the comeback of DANCE☆MAN, the famous and accomplished arranger of Momusu "golden age" hits. He's back to track, and with Ongaku Gatas, so they can't have been created just for wasting them.
- The excellent idea of promoting H!P Eggs side by side with better-known members of H!P. I find this quite a remarkable thing as this is practically the first time any Eggs are properly promoted. You have to remember that when Kanna, Yui and Linlin debuted they stopped being part of Eggs. Also I don't feel that THE Possible was given this much attention, people were not even sure whether that group was part of Hello!Project. But creating a group by putting new, fresh, young faces together with respected older members is a very good idea. Especially this little girl has been given quite a push. Mano Erina has got VERY popular among overseas H!P fans and apparently in Japan too since she has got such a big role in their new single. She has as much lines as Yossy and Rika (and Nocchi, but let's come to her later) and more than Konkon or Satoda Mai if didn't count wrong, for heaven's sake, and she's also in the middle in the cover of Yattarouze!'s limited edition. I can't deny that she's cute and she also has a nice voice, but she's still not my favourite. But I have to raise my hat for this girl as she has beaten all the other Eggs in this group and seems to be gaining fans faster than anyone. However, regardless of her popularity, my favourite Egg is This is mostly because of her voice. In Narihajimeta Koi no Bell she impressed me especially when the Eggs (Manoeri, Minami, Yuri) go "Haaaa!" before the chorus her voice stood out a lot. She sounded so different compared to the other Eggs, she really has a great voice. One of the best in Ongaku Gatas, I think. Also I find her very cute. She seems to be enjoying in the PVs and performances and is always smiling - somehow, she reminds me a little of Yossy. To me she's the second promising Egg in Ongaku Gatas, as the most promising one is I chose Noto Arisa as the most promising one, although I like Yuri the best, because of her overall personality. I think what she has got is "idol ability". She's cute beyond description and knows what to do: she looks very professional with everything she does. She's also a great dancer and seems to be giving her all. As a fan favourite she's now losing to Manoeri but has all the abilities to become a very close second (or even winning, I think.) Nocchi is also promoted almost as much as Manoeri. They are given the same amount of lines but Manoeri's are better placed: in Yattarouze! she starts (well after Yossy) and ends the song with her solo lines while Nocchi's lines are more in the middle of the song. But she's still given a chance to shine and she's definitely using it. The rest of the Eggs don't appeal to me or other people so much so I don't have a lot to say about them. Sengoku Minami is the one that differs from these other two because she's given at least some chance: she's got solo lines and also, especially in Narihajimeta she seems to be less awkward than these other two. I'm hoping to see more of her. But in my opinion both Korenaga Miki and Mutou Mika have greatly developed and in their second PV they're both doing fine. And in my point of view, Miki is looking very good in this photo. So let's not prejudge and forget about "the ugly ones" before they have completely got comfortable about this new situation and showed all they've got. AND JUST FOR THE SAKE OF JUSTICE, GIVE THESE GIRLS SOME LINES! I hate the fact they didn't get any in this new single either. God bless the album announcement, as they can't avoid giving them any on that release. ♪
To now examine the other members of this unit too, I have to say that this girl (WOMAN) is till winning for me. ♥
Which isn't a big surprise, I guess. :) Isn't she just perfectly beautiful in this photo? I won't have to explain why she a win, I did it many times already.
As for Konkon, Satoda Mai and Rika. I don't particularly like the voice of any of these. Konkon is my favourite out of these as she has always been the one I can relate to the most. A studious person who loves to eat...Hey, that's me! Oh well, I always loved to imagine that if I was in Momusu I would be Konkon. Until I discovered that she graduated before I even got to know about the whole group. But I still love her. And I'm happy that she's back though looking very different after that year outside H!P, having lost all her baby fat in her face. No more chubby cheeks. :) Well I guess she's happy now, has anyone watched her Alo-Hello! ? The part where she was showing the mask she wears while sleeping/taking a bath (I can't remember what) to lose fat from the face is quite... no, VERY scary. She looks like an alien when she puts it in front of her face. :) No need for those anymore. But I guess I'm not the only one who had difficulties to recognize her.
Rika has never been one of my favourite... Although I really think that she's improved with her singing (well that took long) and she amazed me in Ribbon no Kishi her personality and manners are not very attractive to me. I find her behaviour a little bit annoying sometimes. And her voice isn't still very pleasant. When I saw the 4th gen auditions I was surprised because I think she sounded better in her audition than she sounded for years after joining Momusu. If it was some producer (Tsunku) telling her to sing like that and not like she would normally sing I really think that was stupid. Maybe it matched her image but it didn't match anything else.
Satoda Mai's voice is quite comparable with Konkon's and you can hear the similarities especially in the first verse of Narhajimeta when their solos are the same kind of lines. The only difference is that Mai can hold notes, Konkon is sometimes off-key. Both voices are still extremely high-pitched and nasal. Mai is good at dancing but that's about it. I don't really have much to say about her, I'm indifferent about her.
Some people have suggested that Ongaku Gatas would be the way for the other Miki, Fujimoto I mean, to come back. Personally I don't think it's a good idea, because
- although it would bring more strong singers in the group she would once again steal all the lines
- it would be a huge step back in her career as she has been solo, in Morning Musume and in duet with Ayaya.
So just have GAM making a comeback or make her go solo, but keep Ongaku Gatas as it is!
I guess in the end Airi will still have to wait for another "exiting ^_^" post. She didn't quite fit in this after all.
More Yossy. ♥
As I'm finding myself more and more often reading other people's blogs, enjoying them a lot and sometimes even being disappointed when no one has written anything new, I thought it's time to start one of my own.
I'm rather new to Hello!Project. I first became familiar with it in December 2006, but I soon fell in love and nowadays I start appreciate a new H!P artist or discover a new H!P song I like everyday. As a beginning, I'll reveal my favourite H!P idol of all times: the most beautiful, the funniest and the most charming with the most attracive singing voice (in other words the best)! May I present: Yoshizawa Hitomi, also known as Yossy.
Because I'm new, I will be reviewing al kinds of old things and releases. I haven't quite catched up with everything yet. ♪ I like buying the old stuff as far as I can afford, so I will write about them.
Just hope that somebody would find their way here. :)
